~ quilled top hats

 ~ keeping a long the same carnival theme
here is a quilled top hat card

I am really liking how the top hat turned out
they remind me of the mad hatter hat from Alice in Wonderland

this first hat is made with 1/8 inch quilling strips
but to me it lacked a bit of depth

so I also made some from 1/4" quilling paper
and they seemed to come to life more

I made a few of them and no two are alike

they are all on cards now and have gone to a good home
{aka my spinner rack at work}

hmmmm...nothing yet in the wings to show you
so you will just have to be surprised

  1. Very cute hats! The ones with wider quilling strips came nicer, indeed. Very nice paper ribbon you added! And the letters match very well with them.

  2. Cute! I like the way the old fashioned hat goes well with the old fashioned letter style.

  3. Now I can't decide which I like better, the mustache or the top hats. Both are great. I really like that font you're using too.

  4. First of all, letters are gorgeous! You chose such a lovely font, brilliant! And hats are special. The wider one is really better. Keep going, Cheryl!!!
