~Hello everyone

I am going deep in to Christmas quilling mode {with nativities and cards)

so I won't have much time to blog but I have 7 quilled flower cards that 

I did a few weeks ago that I can share with you

I designed a {very simple} stem in photo shop that I can use as a 

base to create quick and easy cards for a variety of occasions

all I need to do is change the flower and sentiment

to create a new card

I will show you the rest of them over the next 6 posts

you will see more pictures than words {if any}

so I can have more time to quill

~ quilled penguin card

 ~ good morning

I often get people asking me if I can quill a certain graphic or logo from a picture

so when I saw this graphic on line I thought I would practice with this cute penguin

it doesn't always translate well but for this little penguin 

I was happy with the initial results

 

this was my first shot at it which isn't too bad

but trying to duplicate them was making me go nuts

each one was turning out different which I find REALLY frustraiting 

but I did learn a lot from the process

I need to slow down and take more time when making my shapes 

especially when I want them to look the same

this is a quilled birthday cake I made for my good friend Sandie

{or Sandie Wandie as I like to call her}

 the cake stand was done in photo shop

I wasn't sure how it would turn out once the cake was glued on but I like it

I have a feeling you will be seeing more of these cakes and stands

and I am not done yet

~ I was recently asked to make a card with a purple flower on it....

 

 I immediately thought of the Malaysian flower that is all the rage right now

I went with my old stand-by vase that I usually make....

 

and of course, a little bling never hurts

it certainly was fun and I love having a theme to go with
