Here is the other Mother's Day card I made this year. I used the same design as my mom's card but changed up the colours and turned it around. I love the green & white micah blooms paper from my mom's card but this new envelopments plume paper is to die for. I just might be a convert....
As you can see by my blog I am a card making junkie and my most favourite type to make are memory cards. I love to give people cards with their pictures on them and have been doing it for years. For the Mother's Day weekend I always have 2 mother's day cards and 1 birthday card to make for the special people in my life so it is a bit of crunch time for me. Probably the person who has received the most memory cards from me is my mom and her birthday is in April so she gets them close together too. It just seems in the "olden days" they took such great pictures. At first I started out by just printing the pictures but when I got photoshop elements I started to play around with the pictures a bit. I still have a long way to go in editing pictures but I love doing it.
Here is the card I made for my mom for this year.....although she loves to book flights and order stuff off of the internet, she doesn't blog surf much unless I tell her to look (cross your fingers she doesn't look before Sunday).
Hello everyone.....
here is a mother's day card I made in 2006. I really like the softness of this card and embossing in white was new for me but I like the look.
I have ooooodles and ooooodles of cards that I have made over the years so I thought I would start sharing some "oldies but goodies" with you. This is a very simple mother's day card I made last year to sell at The Essential Packaging Store. It is a snap to put together and it uses up some of the mountains of scrap paper we all have on hand.
This how I made it
Using scrap paper and pages from an old book, cut 4-5 circles of graduating sizes (just rough cut) and crumple each one (try spritzing the paper with water to loosen the fibers). Next, nest the circles together and add a couple of buttons on top. Then sew the "stack" so they stay together...also I don't like the look of using buttons without thread. Next print or stamp a sentiment on your card and add a co-ordinating strip of scrap paper and glue the circle flower on with... dum da da dum.....ZIP DRY. You can change each one up a bit by using different paper and by adding ribbon.
Supplies used
scrap paper
paper from an old book
card stock
buttons
ribbon
Thanks for checking in today. Cheryl

Hello there....
I am still trying to make a few mother's day cards and this is my latest one. I saw a card with a flower like this quilled on it but can not for the life of me remember where I saw it. I always get inspiration from other crafters as I am sure they do from me.
I think that is the best part about sharing....you get ideas and direction from what others are doing, see things that maybe you never thought of before, then put your own twist on it. When I find out where I saw this flower quilled before I will edit this post to add the credit where it is due.
Hello everyone...here is my second mother's day card. It was super quick to make with this simple design but elegant at the same time. These adorable butterflies are from The Essential Packaging Store and what's really great about them is you get to choose the paper they are cut from.
