~ quilling board goodies ~

~ hello ~

life has been busy lately and no cards have been made
but every now and then I get a chance to quill a little

so here are some pictures of my quilling board
with pieces waiting for homes

next week is spring break and another busy week
so I suspect it might be a bit quiet around here

but check back again soon
and I'll show you the cards when they are done

Quilled Hearts

~ good morning

thought I would show you how I am packaging the quilled hearts that I am selling on my etsy site.  I printed my watermark 8 times on the front side of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card-stock. Then I printed a blurb on the back on how to use the hearts and then cut out business card size pieces.

The dilemma was how to adhere the hearts to the card-stock and still be able to get them off without breaking them. I tried a lot of different applications but the best adhesive was  removable glue dots. I rolled the dots onto the business card in four places, ran my finger across each one to remove some of the stickyness and attached the hearts to keep them in place. Then put each set in a protective sleeve.

I had a non-crafty family memeber try to take the hearts off and they had no problems. I hope that is the same for anyone who buys them {I don't want any broken hearts...not this close to valentine's day anyway - hehe}~

Thanks for stopping by

Sneak Peak

Hello everyone...hope you all had a great New Years.

It's the time of year to start playing around with new projects so I don't have much to share but I did take a picture of my quilling board of what I have been working on. Some I will keep and some will get the boot or be revamped. The processes can be frustrating but in the end there is a new batch of cards.

I always need wedding and baby cards for my store so I have worked on a few of those...and Valentine's day is around the corner so I have a couple of hearts I have been working on {not sure if I like them though}and I never have enough cards for guys so I have quilled a 'dude'.

and if you haven't checked it out yet....Ann Martin from All Things Paper is having a giveaway so you can check it out here.

Quilled pieces

Hello everyone
the last little tidbit I have from my sale at the Honeybee Festival (it seems like so long ago now) are quilled pieces. I had intended to make cards from all of the quilling I did leading up to the festival but as usual...I ran out of time. I didn't want these cute quilled pieces to be forgotten so I thought why not just sell them as they are. I made a background card (around the same size as a business card) with a bit of info on it and inserted the quilled piece along with the background card into a peel n stick bag (scroll down to the cellophane card bags)....and if you can believe it, they were my best selling items of the show.

Enjoy your day

What I have been up to....Quilling of course

Hello everyone
I am knee deep in Honeybee mode...I am getting ready for the festival this weekend at the Honeybee Centre in Surrey and I thought I would show some of the goodies I have quilled so far. I will post the cards as they are finished but right now I am just quilling.

I like to keep my finished pieces in a container so I can see what I have and they are easy to grab when I am ready to make cards. When I am making a quilled piece I like all the parts to be made from paper and really try to not use anything else but I have caved....you see googly eyes used a lot in quilling so I tried it and it doesn't look so bad after all. I just might use them again because quilling eyes can be tedious.

Have a good day
Cheryl
