~ WISH {quilled candle}

~ this is a design that I have had in my head to do for a while now
so I am glad I finally did it

and I love the look of mixing photo shop with quilling
you can 'tell the story' so much easier when you use both mediums
and it is much quicker to do too

my favourite part is the *smoke* coming off the flame
like you had just blown it out

~ birthday present

since I work in a packaging store
I have access to a store full of awesome packaging *stuff*

so I thought I would show you how
I wrapped my mom's birthday gift

I took a 5" box and wrapped it with Flora Wisteria gift wrap
just like they do in the movies
where you can open it without ripping the paper off
if I don't wrap it this way...my mom doesn't want to open it
and she can always use it again

inside was a smaller box tied with a bow
and inside that was a box with Pandora earrings inside

needless to say
she loved her *packaging*
and the gift too

~ celebrate your day

This kind of card is one of my favourite styles. I love the colours of the flower (celery from paplin), the tone on tone of the flower pot, stem and the card stock (white from lake city with ecru linen paper) and the contrasting of font styles.

~ enjoy your day

~ you are my sunshine

I have always loved the song 'you are my sunshine' and often have the tune in my head so that is my inspiration for this card....and well we are all definitely in need some sunshine I think. As usual... there are lots of pictures.

I hope your days are all full of 'sunshine'

~happy birthday...quilled candles

Trying to get some general greeting cards ready to fill up my spinner rack at work and this was a good start. I've been wanting to do some quilled birthday candles for a while now so I finally did one with just candles. I've put them on cake or cupcakes before but never on their own. It is pretty simple and been done before but I like the bright, cheery colours...what do you think?

and the winner is.....

Thanks go out to all of you for playing along with my blogoversary blog candy. It was nice to see all of the comments and opinions. Most people could not narrow down their selection so I guess that is a good thing for me. It will be interesting to see what this blogging year holds now that I am at 113 followers and counting so the pressure is on {hehe}...wow.

Now on to the important part........

The lucky winner is.......drum roll please....da da da dum
Ann from Northwestern Pennsylvania, USA is the lucky winner. Ann has followed my blog for a long time now and always leaves me nice comments....Congrats Ann!
Ann said...
congratulations on your anniversary. I would say your first year was a very successful one. Choosing what my favorite thing is that you have made is kind of difficult since I've liked all your work but I think your nativity would have to be my pick.
Thanks again for your comments and stopping by to check out what I am up to

you're the cats meow...

~ hello everyone....thanks so much for all of your comments on my blogoversary blog candy post. Today is the last day to leave comments for a chance to win so make sure you have left a comment and are a follower. I will pick the lucky winner sometime tomorrow so be sure to check back.

I've managed to make a few cards over the past couple of days....yippeeee. I feel like I am behind filling my spinner rack at work {or all the cards are old to me} but I still get lots of comments on them. This one could be used for valentine's day, anniversary, or just because...

Remember to check back tomorrow

Happy Birthday...Debbie

Good morning all....and happy ground hog day. Not sure if he saw his shadow or not because this is a scheduled post but lets hope we are on our way into spring. Not much snow in Vancouver this year but we really need to dry out.

Here is a memory card I made for my Aunt and I can post her card today {her actual birthday} because I gave it to her early....she is in Copenhagen right now and I can only hope she is at the flagship store for Pandora Beads looking for one that I can't get here in North America.

The front of the card reads 'Debbie always was a two-fisted drinker' and inside it says 'too bad it's water and bbq sauce'. She did get a kick out of it and, of course, there is a bit of quilling on it. I had this little hat ready for just the right card and I think this was it.

Bambino

~ as promised yesterday, here is the bambino. Don't you just love the little curly Q on the top of his head. Lin made a card with the same curly Q and we hadn't seen each-others cards. I like her black version better but this one is still cute too.

~ and I have another post in the works for tomorrow so see you then.

Bambina

Hello everyone
if you remember the sneak peak post I did a few weeks ago you may have noticed this little darling sitting on my quilling board. She is no longer an orphan and has been given a home on this card. Isn't she sweet.

You may have noticed that I am back into the kraft card stock theme like the bees, pumpkins and turkeys from last year.

Check back tomorrow for her brother.....
