I recently had an order for 25 white quilled hearts 

and the customer backed out

soooooo what to do with all of the hearts

.....cards of course

 I didn't want scream valentines

but it could be used for that too

so I thought black and white

it could be anniversary, valentines, wedding 

or just because

I am lucky enough to have a few wonderful customers who order cards from me often
and Amanda is one of them...she ordered the black & white dog card from my last post

and three other cards...a Mexican wedding card, a shower card, and an anniversary card

 I was a bit stumped on what to quill for a Mexican Wedding
but we came up with the sombrero

I like how it turned out but, for some reason, it is not easy to replicate
 I am finding it really hard to get the same size as the first one I made
I did make more to sell on etsy but they are not as good as this first attempt

 the shower and anniversary cards are not new designs for me
but I personalized them for her which is always a nice touch

my cards have been selling like hotcakes lately

so I have had to do some card making cramming sessions

and it is hard to come up with something *new* every time

so an easy way to make a *new* card is to re-use 

quilled pieces but just change the sentiment

lately I have been spending as much time on the coming up

with new wording as I do on coming up with the quilling

I took this quilled heart which I used on my valentine's card

just change the sentiment, added a hint of bling {cause weddings need bling}

and it is a great wedding card

I've got a bunch of cards to share so check back again

~ quilled wine (or champagne) glasses

~ oh boy what a busy weekend it has been

it was my birthday on Saturday and it was a jam packed weekend

  

 and in celebration of my birthday I thought I would bring out the wine glasses
{or in my case for my birthday celebrations
we were using champagne glasses} 

I guess technically this is a wedding, anniversary or engagement card...

but it could also be congratulating someone on making through another year

this past year has been a great one for me 

and lets hope the one to come is just as good

do you struggle with re-making cards you have made before...I do

not sure why but I always like to be creating something new

when I was recently asked to make a simple yet elegant wedding card

I decided to revisit a card I made a while ago

why not make more of the *with this ring* card 

 since it was so popular

 

if I do make a card from a design that I have done before 

I at least change the colour and shapes a bit

{like yesterday's card}

but this one is exactly the same

{well I did change the font...had to give my creative juices SOMETHING to work with}

 tone on tone with a splash of colour really appeals to me

so I needed a quick design to whip up some more cards

 nothing quicker than a little bit of simple quilling

some ribbon and a sentiment

simple yet elegant

and the sentiment can be changed for almost any occasion

which I am sure I will use again

who have been married 50 years

 they said no gifts 

but I just had to make a card

I've quilled this cake before

but since I was in a hurry I added bling instead of quilled flowers

I like the look

not bad for a 10 minute card

~ mr. & mrs. {quilled birds}

Well it looks like I am on a roll this week....making cards and posting them too. This is the last one I have ready so I better get back at it soon. These long legged birds were inspired from a quilled wall hanging I saw online on an etsy shop called It's Lorraine. I loved the long legs on the birds and knew they would be perfect as a bride and groom.

I saw her shop a long time ago and just ended up making my card recently {but she does still have the wall hanging up on her site if you want to check it out}. Mrs. Bird is very cute but I love the hat and tails on Mr.Bird. I used photo shop to add the swirl and text to my card. I think the polka-dot ribbon is adorable.
