I've managed to make a few cards over the past couple of days....yippeeee. I feel like I am behind filling my spinner rack at work {or all the cards are old to me} but I still get lots of comments on them. This one could be used for valentine's day, anniversary, or just because...

Amore {quilled love birds}

~good morning everyone

as some of you know I have been lucky enough to receive 3 of Lin's cards and they are even more impressive in person. I especially like the love birds card so I thought since I had her card to look at, that I would make my own version. After seeing her cards I started to think that I should make my quilling a bit bigger and tried to do just that with quilled love birds.

I have to tell you that I wasted a lot of paper and it is not easy to 'copy' someone else's work even if you have it right in front of you. Her quilling paper seems more pliable and lighter in weight than what I have so she could get the shapes with a bit of a curve but mine were just points and very stiff on the ends. So I ended up making mine smaller {still larger than I normally do} but smaller than Lin's. And I made them all white....I like the monochromatic look if you haven't noticed.

Mine still aren't as curvy as Lin's so I added a bit of glitter....they are OK but are missing Lin's touch.

Valentine Gift Tags ~ White

~ hello everyone
just a quick post to show you another version of the valentine gift tag from a few days ago but this time in white.

Instead of embossing the end I thought it was about time I started using some of the washi tape my brother brought me back from Japan.  It was very quick and easy to use....just tape the end of the tag and trim the tape. To finish up the tag all I had to do was glue on the quilled heart and add ribbon. Voila~

Valentine Gift Tags

~ good morning

thanks for stopping by my little corner of the blogging world. Today I am showing you a few simple tags I made using the quilled heart from this card. We sell the undecorated tags at work and I have been wanted to dress some up since we got them...so today is the day. I used my cuttllebug to emboss the ends, glued on the heart and added a bit of single face satin ribbon.

It is a bit harder to photograph tags than cards because they don't stand up but I think they turned out ok in the end {I did have a lot of duds in the camera though}

you're a hooooooooot

Good afternoon

Today is a good day....I have gotten some quilling done, made some cards, taken the pictures and actually loaded new stock on my etsy site AND sold a valentine card on etsy too {the one in my last post but I have lots more so I quickly re-listed it}. Whooooot hooooot

and on that note....I have always loved  Miyyah's owls and thought I would try my own. My little guys eyes are on the small side {well for an owl}, the feet are round and the little guy is probably starving with out a beak but he is still cute all the same. Thanks for the inspiration Miyyah!!
